Sparking Ideas - Surrealism - Rene Magritte

Hiden Faces

These images here by Rene Magritte are all connected in the way that they are all hiding the face. Which arrouses the question, What is behind the object?, Why is the face being hiden?

The idea that these sparked was the following...

I liked the idea of faces coming out of the wall, possibly more subtle than this, with a large village scene outside. This would show a contrast in eerie inside to beautiful outside.

  1. Careful about your research, Chris - the pumpkin image ISN'T by Magritte - it's a spoof of one of his paintings. Keep an eye on your facts.
